Intense dispute with Virat Kohli

Who can forget this moment? The sixth season of the IPL took place in 2013, 11 years ago. At that time, Gautam Gambhir captained the Kolkata Knight Riders, while Virat Kohli led the Royal Challengers Bangalore. After getting dismissed, Kohli confronted Gambhir as he returned to the pavilion. The situation escalated to the point where both teams had to step in to resolve the conflict.

Shahid Afridi struck with an elbow

It’s well-known how charged the atmosphere gets when the Indian and Pakistani cricket teams face off. The intense rivalry between the two nations is palpable, with fans passionately supporting their teams. This was especially true during Pakistan’s tour of India in 2007, which saw the teams clash in the third ODI at Kanpur. India emerged victorious by 46 runs, but the match was not just memorable for the outcome. Once an MP, he then stepped away from politics

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party chose Gautam Gambhir as its candidate for East Delhi. He made a significant impact during the polls, successfully entering Parliament by defeating Atishi from the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvinder Singh Lovely from Congress. His victory marked a notable achievement in his political career, showcasing his ability to connect with voters and navigate the competitive political landscape.

However, as the 2024 general elections approached, Gambhir announced his decision to retire from politics. Speculation arose that the BJP might consider cutting his ticket for East Delhi this time, prompting him to withdraw his candidacy even before the official list of candidates was released. This decision surprised many, as Gambhir’s political journey had been closely watched since his entry into Parliament.
